At the end of July 2023, we have planned the exhibition "Undead Nature" with the renowned multidisciplinary artist Simon Cruz, where 10-12 oil paintings of 2x2 meters will be exhibited. However, a problem arises and, at the same time, the opportunity for "Nature Renewed". Simon Cruz is widely known for his steel sculptures in emblematic public spaces in Mexico and due to the physical distance between Barcelona and Simon Cruz's workshop, it is impractical and excessively expensive to move the sculptures to Barcelona.
We asked ourselves the following questions: how can we "elaborate" a sculpture by a Latin American artist in these circumstances? how do we create a bridge of integration between different art markets, such as Europe and Latin America? what kind of emerging techniques can we use to promote, create and work on this type of project?
"Nature Renewed" is an invitation to collaborate and set a precedent in the Barcelona art community, a bridge between the classical and the modern. We seek to find sustainable solutions for artistic production and encourage interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration in art.
